More info: Whether you’re a LinkedIn devotee, a rabid Facebook friendaholic, or one of the Twitter Tweeple, join us for some good, old-fashioned, face-to-face networking. Step away from the computer for a few hours to meet some cool folks and build your network at the same time.
We all have opportunites to meet people “like” us; similar skills, similar industry, similar age group. There is also benefit to our networking efforts to get to know others from diverse backgrounds and with different skill sets entirely.
This is not just an open mixer with loud, blaring music. Those are fun, but you can only shout at a limited number of people and don’t really get to know much about them beyond exchanging business cards. This is different. Think speed dating meets business networking – You’ll meet a number of different people for a fixed period of time, then move on to someone else.
• Having a great conversation? You can connect with them later on in person or in the virtual world.
• Having a pointless conversation? Well, you’re not stuck there for long and can gracefully move on.
• Shy about meeting new people? No problem, this is structured to take all the awkwardness out of it.
So here’s the deal…
Thanks to the great folks at DeVry University, they will be hosting our event at their beautiful campus in Fremont. It is located at the Fremont end of the Dumbarton Bridge and convenient to 880. There is plenty of free parking available.
To participate, it is important that you arrive by 6:45 because the formal networking will begin at 7:00 pm. Otherwise, things get kind of complicated.
The important stuff – Food and drinks…
Light food and drinks to be provided, courtesy of the wonderful foks at DeVry University.

“Linking Northern California is a great online group with lots of people willing to help. Meeting our fellow members at a live LNC event is always rewarding. The events are always well organized, unlike some business “mixers” where everyone just mills around.”
George Marshall
Linking Northern California events are well-run and a great way to meet new people — people you don’t ordinarily see at networking events in the Silicon Valley area. We’d love to meet you!

The Linking Northern California events produced by Irene Koehler attract a diverse, high caliber crowd of people from throughout the Bay Area. At each of the events I have attended, I have connected with several professionals throughout the region.

Hi Irene, I for one will save that date!Thank you so much for all of your hard work putting these stellar events together! I can only imagine the amount of effort it takes you. It is much appreciated! For those of you who have yet to attend one of Irene’s events – run…don’t walk to the next event. It’s well worth the trip from Santa Cruz for me. Yes, I have gotten business through the connections I have made at the events, but more importantly I have made connections with folks who have helped me and I have been able to help as well. Selfless Networking at it’s best!
